Terms & Conditions

Before confirming your order with Oakyarde Cakes, please kindly review the following Terms and Conditions. This document outlines the terms and conditions under which we sell and supply goods to you. Payment of your booking deposit signifies your agreement with our Terms and Conditions.

Booking: To secure your booking with Oakyarde Cakes, a non-refundable booking deposit of £50.00 is required for wedding orders and £20.00 for celebration cakes and all other products. Please note, your order is not confirmed until a deposit has been received.

All quotations will be sent via email and remain valid for 7 days from the date of issue. We retain the right to adjust prices after this period.

Remaining Balance: For Wedding Orders, the invoice balance must be paid in full no later than 2 weeks before the delivery date. For Celebration Cake orders and all other orders, the balance must be settled in full no later than 2 days before the delivery date unless otherwise agreed.

Cancellations: All cancellations must be made in writing. The booking deposit is non-refundable for any cancellations. For cancellations of celebration cakes and other orders with less than 1 week’s notice, the full payment (including booking deposit) is non-refundable. In the case of wedding orders, cancellations with less than 6 weeks’ notice will result in the full payment (including the booking deposit) being non-refundable.

Collection: We advise for all cakes to be transported on a flat surface and recommend you use the footwell or boot of your car. Please ensure the air conditioning is on if possible. No responsibility is taken for any damage caused to the cake whilst transporting or moving to the venue.

Delivery/Set Up: Delivery may be arranged in advance and will be in your initial quote if requested. Once the cake is delivered and set up, you assume responsibility. We will not be liable for any loss or damage once the cake is moved post-set-up. If you request us to leave your cakes with someone, it is your responsibility, and we will not be liable for any issues post-handover.

Postponements: To postpone your cake booking, please email your request, and we will check our availability.  Deposits will be transferred to the new date. Postponements are allowed up until 4 weeks before the scheduled event date. After this period, dates are non-transferable, and final balances for the original dates are payable.

Final Design: We will create your orders exactly as detailed in our correspondence, and confirmed as agreed by yourself upon payment of the deposit. By paying your final invoice, you confirm that the final design matches your requirements.

Allergies: We cannot guarantee that our products are free from substances that might cause allergic reactions. It is your responsibility to inform your guests. Additionally, some decorations are not edible, and you are responsible for informing your guests. You will be advised upon collection if there are supports in the cake. If a venue requires an ingredient list, you should request it through us, not the venue. Sugar cookies are individually packaged and will come with their own individual allergen label secured to the packet. Our products contain gluten, wheat, dairy, eggs, and may contain traces of nuts unless stated otherwise.

Exceptions: Oakyarde Cakes is not liable for adverse weather conditions affecting venue access or ‘Acts of God’ (fire, flood, etc.), government advice, pandemics, labor disputes, electricity supply failure, or any unforeseeable circumstances that prevent service provision. We will make every effort to reach the venue when it’s deemed safe. We reserve the right to review and update these Terms and Conditions periodically.
